Gaelic Ring: Mull

Introduction

From Oban or, An t-Oban in Gaelic, it’s just under an hour to Craignure on Mull and the port for MV Isle of Mull, the ferry that serves the island. From the picturesque and island capital town of Tobermory at the north of the island, the ferry crosses to the Ardnamurchan village of Kilchoan. It’s then by road to Mallaig, by way of the West Highland areas of Moidart and Morar. From Mallaig sail over the sea to the Isle of Skye and head back to Oban via the Skye Bridge, Invergarry, Fort William, Appin and Benderloch.
This Gaelic Ring takes in the Isle of Mull, the Ardnamurchan Peninsula and the Isle of Skye. Mull is an island of dramatic landscapes and its highest mountain, Ben More can be viewed from near and far. The West Highland mainland areas of Ardnamurchan, Moidart, Morar, Mallaig, Lochaber and the world renowned Isle of Skye provide a richness of language, culture and stunning landscapes and seascapes.
