two persons. DAY 2; your ferry awaits from Oban you sail to MULL, a 40 minute sailing and superb scenery await you today. As you land at Craignure, you have two options; a left turn, or a right turn! At this stage of the tour we suggest a left turn and a visit to IONA (shown below). An enchanted wee isle full of history. from Iona, retrace your drive (there is no alternative anyhow!) to Craignure and maybe stop here for a bite to eat? We have friends here who you can visit. Then end the day with a half hour drive to Tobermory, where you stay overnight.
DAY 3; a stunning drive, as you leave Tob to take the ever winding road to Calgary Bay, a stunning route and one to savour. Plenty of "Kodak moments" en route as you end up at the bay. Relax here and take in the views1 Did you bring a bite to eat? well make sure you do. The remainder of the day is spent driving (carefully) along wee roads, coastal paths and hair pin bends, passing glorious countryside, taking you to ULVA (if you wish). From here an easy drive back to Tobermory and a chance to relax out of the car with a beer or whisky! Overnight Tobermory. DAY 4; the mainland awaits with a wee ferry from Tobermory to Kilchoan (pro; Kilhown). Many lovely places to visit here, ideal for walking. Then following the road to Mallaig and another ferry, this time to Skye. Now you have visited the two largest islands of the Inner Hebrides. Your accommodation lies close by Eilean Donan Castle, so if you can, see that today, if not - tomorrow is fine! DAY 5; over the sea to Skye, take the road bridge to Skye and explore this isle in a day! Suggested route; Portree, Trotternish, Uig, Dunvegan and home to your accommodation as previously. DAY 6; the final ferry, passing through stunning scenery again to Invergarry and then Fort William and onwards to Oban, where you have a final night. DAY 7; Glasgow, at your leisure, drive south via a stunning route to Glasgow and return the rental car. Your tour ends here. We can arrange an overnight stay here if you wish. |
